The Muny Customers Reviews
Probably a funny play, but...
My wife and I attended this performance at the Adler Theater. It was our first visit (and last) to this venue! There is no convenient elevator for mobility-limited individuals. (Lesson: call first!)
The show was probably very funny, but the sound mixer had the band so loud that the singers words could not be heard! I wear hearing aids and fiddled with my settings to try to improve the sound, to no avail. At the intermission, my wife commented that she was also having difficulty. After the show, other patrons we spoke with voiced the same sentiments.
I feel bad in not recommending the play, because the rating reflects the overall experience with the Adler Theater and the atrocious sound.
We do not know if the road company or the theater provides the board operator. What we do know is that our (and others, evidently) enjoyment of the play was largely ruined by the instruments overpowering the singers voices.
The voices, not the band, tell the story!
